Lincoln Elementary Magnet School

Our HeadStart students participated in a Music and Storybook performance yesterday. HeadStart enjoyed the liver performance, and our strings students enjoyed performing for HeadStart, a full circle moment for our strings students who attended HeadStart at Lincoln.

Last night three Lincoln Lions performed a concert at Beef O'Brady's in Plant City. These students united by their interest in playing strings, formed a band, EB&J. They practice together and enjoy performing together. They were able to perform at Beef's as part of a spirit night to support Lincoln's music program. We are so proud of these students for being balanced, risk-takers!

3rd-5th Grade students will test on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please encourage your students to do their best. We are excited to see their results!

🎨🖌️ Students at Lincoln Elementary Magnet School recently showcased their creativity at the school’s annual art show!

Art teacher Mrs. Lemonidis transformed the multipurpose room into a vibrant gallery, where every student had two pieces of artwork on display. Families also enjoyed hands-on activities and the chance to create art together, making it a memorable celebration of creativity and community. 💛✨

We are still dreaming about our amazing Art Show last night! Mrs. Lemonidis created a magical world of art and creativity in the Multipurpose Room. Every student had two pieces of art displayed and there were endless opportunities for families to create art together. Thank you Mrs. Lemonidis for this amazing display and thank you students for sharing your creativity.

On Wednesday, our 2nd grade students began their Sharing the Planet unit of inquiry. The teachers modeled the life cycle of a butterfly throughout the day, changing from egg to caterpillar and then emerging from their chrysalises for their provocation. After the teachers became butterflies, students asked questions and reflected on the experience to kick off this cycle of inquiry.

Third grade was busy celebrating Earth Day yesterday! They participated in a schoolwide clean up and did some Earth Day research. They surveyed students and teachers around the school about reducing, reusing and recycling. They used their survey data to create pictographs in math, making connections across subjects and finding ways make our earth a better place to live, work, and play! Happy Earth Day!

Thank you to everyone who donated to our annual Color Run fundraiser! We raised over $25,000 for school improvements! Thank you to PTA and our volunteers who helped to make the run fun. We had a great time and we can't wait until next year!

Last week our 4th grade students shared their explorer projects with their parents and peers. The students have been studying explorers, the challenges they faced and their impact on our world. They each chose an explorer and researched information to share with others. They used their research and communications skills and did an amazing job.

Yesterday our 1st grade students presented a Poetry Slam. Students shared the poetry books they created in class and then had the opportunity to read a poem of their choice to parents and classmates. We are so proud of these young authors!

Congratulations to Eshan Aglave from Lincoln Elementary School and Megan Richards from Wharton High School on being named the Drinking Water Award winners at this year’s Hillsborough County STEM Fair! 🎉

They recently had the opportunity to meet Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, who congratulated them on receiving this award, which honors projects focused on water conservation and real-world solutions to protect and manage our water resources.
