Principal's Message

Scottie Basham, Principal

I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Principal of LaVoy Exceptional Center. As I enter my sixth year as the Principal at LaVoy, I am excited about the upcoming school year and continuing to ensure LaVoy is a place for opportunity where all learning is meaningful and where students want to be.  Our mission is to empower students to meet their individual goals through personalized learning experiences and meaningful engagement. We understand the importance of family and community collaboration and look for to working together throughout the next school year. There are many opportunities for families and community members to support our school. If you are interested, I encourage you to register as a volunteer, serve on our School Advisory Committee, join our Parent-Teacher Organization and/or become a business partner.  We encourage our families and community to be involved.

Best Regards,
Dr. Scottie Basham

Autism Awareness Month

Our students had the special opportunity to visit C.U.P. (Coffee Uniting People) and take part in a meaningful event for Autism Awareness Month. During the visit, they placed colorful handprints on police cars to show support for individuals with autism.
