Principal's Message

Sarah Jacobsen Capps, principal of Lomax Elementary School

Dear Families, Students, and Community Members,

As the proud principal (and alumni) of Lomax Elementary Magnet School, I am honored to lead a school community that values academic excellence and meaningful relationships. We are committed to providing a safe and engaging learning environment where students are challenged to reach their highest potential.

Through our 4 Es of Magnet (Enrichment, Exploration, Expeditions and Electives), our team of educators work collaboratively to nurture the individual strengths of every child.

At Lomax, we are ONE PRIDE. We believe that education is a partnership between school, home, and the community. We invite families to join our PTA and School Advisory Council, and to be active participants here at Lomax.

Thank you for visiting our website and for your continued support. Together, we will make this school year a successful and memorable one!

Sincerely,

Sarah Jacobsen Capps

Principal

4 E's

Lomax follows the 4 E's. Exploration encourages students to discover new ideas and interests. Electives give students the freedom to choose activities that align with their passions. Expeditions create learning through hands-on experiences, and real-world adventures. Enrichment enhances academic and personal development by opportunities that challenge, inspire, and broaden students’ perspectives. Together, these 4 elements work in harmony to nurture well-rounded, confident, and lifelong learners.

Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run is a program that inspires and empowers girls in grades 3-8 to be confident, healthy, and kind through a fun, experience-based curriculum. Over the course of the season, participants build life skills like teamwork, goal setting and resilience, all while training for a celebratory 5k event that marks their accomplishments and growth.
