Welcome to Stewart Middle Magnet School – Home of the Yellow Jackets!

I am Dr. Baretta Wilson, and I am truly honored to serve as the principal of Stewart Middle Magnet School. I look forward to meeting our students and families as we embark on an exciting school year together.

At Stewart, we are proud to have a dedicated and highly qualified team of educators committed to delivering excellence in instruction. Our vision is to cultivate independent, lifelong learners through dynamic explorations in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Project Lead the Way Distinguished Gateway School

Stewart Middle Magnet was named a Project Lead the Way Distinguished Gateway School for the 2024–2025 school year. The PLTW curriculum includes hands‑on courses in engineering and technology designed to immerse students in real‑world STEM experiences.

NASA Explorer Schools (NES)

The NASA Explorer Schools (NES) Project is a three-year partnership between NASA and schools serving grades 4–9, aimed at improving STEM education in underserved communities. Through access to NASA resources, professional development, and grants, the program engages students, educators, and families in hands-on learning connected to real NASA missions. NES supports schools during the critical middle school years to strengthen the pipeline into STEM careers.
