Welcome to Aparicio-Levy Technical College!

I’m Jesse Salters, proud Principal of ALTC, where opportunity and student success are at the heart of everything we do. Our vision is “Preparing adult students for life and the workforce,” and our mission is “To provide an education and supports which enable each adult student to obtain employment in the workforce.”

I’m excited to work with our amazing teachers and dedicated staff to deliver high-quality education. ALTC is a place where students want to be—where doors open to careers and futures are built. Fire Rescue Academy

Firefighter Rescue Academy

This program prepares students for entry-level positions as firefighters. Students learn the knowledge and skills needed for the Florida Minimum Standards Firefighter exam. Our academies follows the State of Florida Firefighter curriculum, which offers comprehensive training that prepares the candidate to take the State Certification exams. The curriculum includes the framework set by the Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training. Program Length: 492 clock hours (approximately 5 months for the day academy, 7 months for the night academy) Class Schedule: The Tampa Fire Rescue class meets Monday – Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. This class is approximately 5 months long. The Hillsborough County Fire rescue class meets Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 10:00 pm, and Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. This class is approximately 7 months long. Special Requirements: Students must have completed an approved EMT program to enroll in this program. Passing the NREMT is highly recommended before beginning this program. Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair Technician (NIGHT class)

Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair Technician Program

The Maintenance and Light Repair Technician program prepares students for entry into Auto Maintenance Technician jobs. Students will learn the skills necessary to successfully perform the most common maintenance and light repair tasks. Students study safety, tools, equipment, shop operations, basic engine fundamentals, and basic technical skills. Students learn to diagnose, service, and repair: Electrical/electronic system components, battery, starting, charging, lighting, security, infotainment, and accessory systems Front and rear suspension systems, wheel alignment, and wheels and tires Heating and air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and engine cooling, operating and related control systems The program prepares students for the ASE Auto Maintenance and Light Repair (G1) certification exam.
Emergency Medical Technician

Emergency Medical Technician - Applied Technical Diploma (ATD)

This program prepares students for employment as emergency medical technicians. Using interactive education (including classroom presentations, skills practice, and actual patient contact at area hospitals and local ambulance services), students learn how to provide pre -hospital basic life support for people who are sick or injured. Students learn how to treat various medical/trauma conditions using appropriate equipment and materials. Examples of topics covered: patient assessment, airway management, cardiac arrest, bleeding and shock, traumatic injuries, poisoning, heart attack, stroke, patients with abnormal behavior, alcohol and drug abuse, emergency childbirth, burns, environmental hazards, communications, reporting, extrication and transportation of patients. EMT training is science-oriented, medical-related, and very academically rigorous. The 1,286-page textbook requires high level reading and comprehension skills. Students should have a solid academic background and be prepared to spend many hours outside of class studying. Working full-time is not recommended while enrolled in the EMT program. Upon successful completion of this Applied Technology Diploma (ATD) program, graduates enrolling in a Florida Community/State College may be eligible to receive 12 college transfer credits.
Cyber Security

Cybersecurity

The Applied Cybersecurity program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and cybersecurity-related careers in the Information Technology career cluster. It also provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects of cybersecurity.
