LaKeyshea Bryant

At Dunbar Elementary Medical Magnet & Math Academy, we inspire future doctors, scientists, mathematicians, and leaders through unique, hands-on learning experiences! Our Medical Magnet Program brings science and healthcare to life through interactive lessons, real-world medical experiences, and partnerships with organizations such as USF Health, Tampa General Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. Students explore the exciting world of medicine while developing critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Our Accelerated Math Academy provides an exciting opportunity for students to advance their mathematical thinking through a rigorous, engaging curriculum that allows them to complete 1.5 years of math instruction in one school year. Together, our medical and math programs create a one-of-a-kind learning environment where students are challenged, inspired, and empowered to reach their fullest potential!

Our Medical Program

At Dunbar Elementary Medical Magnet, our students explore the exciting world of medicine through hands-on learning, real-world experiences, and partnerships with local medical professionals! Our unique K–5 Medical Magnet Program builds on students' knowledge each year as they explore the human body, health, wellness, and medical careers. From learning about the five senses in kindergarten and performing teddy bear surgeries in first grade to exploring body systems, practicing CPR, and participating in our fifth-grade White Coat Ceremony, students experience medicine in engaging, age-appropriate ways. Through partnerships with organizations such as Tampa General Hospital, USF Health, and other community medical professionals, students connect classroom learning to real-world careers. Each grade level completes exciting medical projects and activities, helping students develop curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for science. At Dunbar, we're not just teaching students about medicine—we're inspiring the next generation of doctors, nurses, scientists, and healthcare leaders!
