❗️ THERE'S STILL TIME ❗️ Students can still submit artwork for our Every Day Matters Poster Contest, in partnership with United Way Suncoast.

Whether it’s a powerful slogan, meaningful artwork, or both, we want to see your unique perspective on what motivates you to show up and make every day count!

Submissions are now due next Monday, September 21. Students should use the poster template found via the link in our bio to create their masterpiece. Once complete, posters should be turned in to their teacher and sent via school mail to Attendance Coordinator Thomas Lefevre (Route 7).

So grab your crayons, colored pencils, markers, or whatever inspires you, and show us why Every Day Matters! 🖍️🎨

Our district is expanding an initiative to help prevent and quickly respond to vaping on our campuses.

Vaping detectors will be installed in middle and K-8 school bathrooms. We have already been using these detectors in our high schools, where they have helped administrators identify vaping incidents more quickly and respond promptly.

The system uses technology that detects airborne vapor and immediately alerts school administrators so staff can check the area. The detectors do not record audio or video.

Smoking and vaping are prohibited on all HCPS campuses. Expanding this initiative is part of our broader effort to reduce vaping, support student health, and ensure our schools can respond quickly when incidents occur.

To learn more about consequences for vaping-related violations, please view the HCPS Student Code of Conduct: https://www.hillsboroughschools.org/o/hcps/page/student-code-of-conduct

Grandparents Day Breakfast Flyer

When - September 16 (Wednesday) 8am - 9am; Park in the faculty parking lot off of Bryan Road or in the front parking area off of Brooker Road. All visitors will need to sign in with their identification.

Where - Burns Cafeteria

Cost - $5 for Grandparents- CASH only! - Students Eat Free

RSVP - to amber.evanicky@hcps.net by Wednesday, September 2

Reminder - Sometimes a problem occurs with the coordination in the morning with the Grandparents arriving at the same time their grandchild arrives. If the only way for a student to get to Burns is by school bus, then, this event may not be the right event for the grandparent to participate as our buses do not arrive early enough for students to participate. Grandparents bringing their grandchild is the recommended method so they can attend together. Grandparents that come separate from the grandchild is fine as long as the timing between the arrival of the two happens within the allotted event time. We start getting grandparents out the door prior to 9am in preparation for our morning procedures. RSVP can be with the flyer or by emailing amber.evanicky@hcps.net. Amber is our cafeteria manager and is needing to get an estimate of number of people in order to feed everyone. RSVP" by Wednesday, September 2 even though the flyer link states Friday.
