  • Good evening Gators, this is Teri Madill, Principal of Riverview Elementary.  Car rider line drop off  begins at 7:10 at the front of the school. Due to safety protocols, children may not be walked to breakfast or class. Please have your child ready to leave the car when you pull up and say goodbye in your car. To make sure our line moves smoothly, please refrain from making a left turn into the drive and stay in your car at all times. We have staff on hand that will ensure your child gets to class, and we will take good care of them.

Afternoon pick up begins at 1:40 with staggering times depending on which program and car color tag you have for your child. If your child is in Headstart, you should have a PINK car rider tag. All pink car tags will be first in the drive. If you have a BLUE car rider tag, we ask that you line up on the side of the road as far over in the grass as possible to allow traffic to safely pass. Your dismissal time will begin at 1:45, and our crossing guard will alert you when it is time to pull in the drive.

If you have a yellow car tag, we ask that you enter the car rider line off of 301 and Broadway Street, near Auto Zone. Yellow car tags must wait at the sign that says “Car Rider Line Begins Here.” The crossing Guard will alert you when it is time to move up. Our car rider line the first two weeks can be very long, and we ask for patience as you wait to pick up your child. If you cannot wait safely on Broadway, you can also turn in the line behind O’Reillys, making sure that you do not block either business’s drive. If there is still no room, you will have to go around the block for your safety. Please note – there are no left turns into the main entrance to the school drive and If you do not have the correct car tag you will be asked to go back around and join the line of your tag color. To make the car rider line a bit easier, if you have an older child, please consider not joining the line until 2:15.

Lastly, our faculty and staff are following COVID protocols that were shared by our district. These COVID protocols are in place to protect our staff and your child. Students are required to wear masks however, parents may opt out of this requirement by submitting the required form located on the district website hillsboroughschools.org/maskoptout. In the event of an exposure, when both students are properly wearing their masks and are at least three feet apart, the exposed student will not need to quarantine. We thank you in advance for helping us to mitigate the impact on learning and encouraging safe practices for our students.

Have a great evening and remember – it's great to be a Gator!
