New state-of-the-art technical college in Plant City

The school, often referred to as Plant City Technical College, will be part of Hillsborough County Public Schools and is located at 1690 E. Park Road—right next to Plant City Stadium.

Modern facilities tailored for hands-on learning

The campus spans 16 acres with two main buildings totaling 52,000 sq ft. One building houses 16 classrooms (eight per floor), while the other includes six classrooms, storage, and shop space for practical, skills-based instruction. Each classroom can accommodate around 30 students.

Welding Technology

Welding Technology

The objectives of the Welding Technology course are to develop the manipulative skills and technical knowledge required to pass entry-level employment qualifications for certifications or certification tests. The course includes instruction and practice in oxyfuel cutting, manual shielded arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, flux cored arc welding, plasma cutting, carbon arc gouging, math and blueprints for welders.

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration 1

This program is a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on lab work and independent study to give the basics in the installation and repair of equipment. The program emphasis includes troubleshooting and repair of air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration equipment.

Building Trades and Construction Design Technology

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment or advanced training in the building construction industry. Building Construction Technologies prepares students to apply a full range of carpentry skills including print reading, estimating, building codes interpretation, rough framing, finish trim, windows, doors, roofing, stairs, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, Masonry, and more.

Electricity 1

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment or advanced training in a variety of electrical construction industries. This program focuses on broad, transferable skills, stresses the understanding of all aspects of the electricity industry, and demonstrates such elements of the industry as planning, management, finance, technical and production skills, underlying principles of technology, labor issues, community issues, and health, safety, and environmental issues.
