Eligible children must turn four-years old by September 1, 2026, and may not have previously participated in a kindergarten or prekindergarten program.
The Hillsborough County Public Schools VPK Program is a 3.5 hour a day program. VPK seats will be awarded through a "prioritized" wait list. Each family will be assigned points based on the criteria below.
Each school will assign VPK seats based on the points. The school will notify those families that are awarded a seat in the VPK program in April, 2026.
5 points will be awarded if the parent/guardian is a staff member at the VPK Site.
4 points will be awarded if the child is zoned for the Peeps/VPK school.
2 points will be awarded if the parent/guardian is an employee of Hillsborough County Public Schools (verify with ID).
1 point will be awarded for each criterion below
Parent or guardian is an active member of the military. (military ID must be shown)
Sibling is enrolled and attending the VPK site for which the student is applying. (A "sibling" is defined as a brother, sister, half-brother, half-sister, stepbrother or stepsister, living in the same household.)
Qualify for McKinney Vento Act
A WEEKLY fee for Extended Learning Time (after VPK) will apply. (Full Pay=$100, Reduced= $50, Free= $25).
