Stewart Middle Magnet School is happy to welcome two new assistant principals to our leadership team. We are pleased to introduce Mr. Kenneth Tompkins as our new Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Ms. Carla White as our new Assistant Principal of Student Affairs.
Mr. Tompkins comes to Stewart after serving as an assistant principal at Tinker K-8 School on MacDill Air Force Base. Ms. White joins us from Ferrell Girls Preparatory Academy, where she also served as an assistant principal. We are excited about the experience, leadership, and commitment to student success that both Mr. Tompkins and Ms. White will bring to Stewart Middle Magnet School.
These leadership changes were approved through a recent school board vote. As part of that transition, our former Assistant Principal of Curriculum, Mr. Alex Samaras, will be moving to Marshall Middle Magnet School in Plant City. Mr. Samaras has been a dedicated member of the Stewart family for 31 years, serving as both a longtime science teacher and assistant principal. His leadership, knowledge, and commitment to students and staff have made a lasting impact on our school community.
We also extend our appreciation to Dr. Susan Wiess, who has served as an assistant principal at Stewart for more than 20 years. Dr. Wiess will be moving to Sgt. Paul R. Smith Middle School. Her many years of service, support, and dedication to Stewart have been deeply appreciated by students, families, faculty, and staff.
While we will certainly miss Mr. Samaras and Dr. Wiess, we are grateful for their many years of service and wish them continued success in their new schools. At the same time, we look forward to the new energy and leadership that Mr. Tompkins and Ms. White will bring to Stewart.
Principal Baretta Wilson will continue to lead the Stewart Middle Magnet School team as we move forward with a strong commitment to academic excellence, student support, and the continued growth of our magnet programs.
Please join us in welcoming Mr. Tompkins and Ms. White to Stewart Middle Magnet School and in thanking Mr. Samaras and Dr. Wiess for their outstanding service to our school community.
