Dear Parents and Guardians:

We hope this message finds you well. As part of our ongoing efforts to promote punctuality and maximize daily instructional time, we will be utilizing the student information systems (Focus Tardy Management System), beginning on Monday, January 12th.

This program is designed to support our school’s existing tardy management plan by streamlining the tracking and reporting of student tardiness. The system will allow for more accurate documentation and timely communication with families, while reinforcing the importance of arriving to class on time to include appropriate consequences for excessive tardiness.

At  Spoto High School students will receive the following consequences for excessive tardies:

5 tardies- Detention/Work Detail, Loss of Privileges, Restorative Practice, Conference with Parent, and/or Conference with Student

10 tardies- Detention/Work Detail, Loss of Privileges, Restorative Practice, Conference with Parent, Conference with Student, and/or 1 Day ISS

15 tardies- Conference with Parent, Conference with Student, and/or 1-2 Days ISS

20 tardies- Conference with Parent, Conference with Student, and/or 1 Day ATOSS

25+ tardies- Conference with Parent, Conference with Student, and/or 1-2 Days ATOSS

We encourage you to speak with your student about this update and remind them of the value of punctuality in fostering a productive learning environment. To ensure that our students have time to familiarize themselves with this new process, we are resetting tardies to zero beginning Monday, January 12th. Tardies will reset once again at the beginning of the fourth nine weeks in March.

Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our students’ success.
