Back to School Information
Happy Saturday Stingray Families -
We had a great first week of school. We practiced our procedures and reviewed schoolwide expectations. Attached to the email version of this message is a Sway that contains highlights from the first two days of school. Each period teachers reviewed important content relating to items which can be found in the student code of conduct. Please take some time to review these items with your child/ren. If you have not explored the school website yet, please make sure you do so as we will post information weekly.
Important reminders for the week of August 18;
-Basketball tryouts begin on the 18th. Students who are not cleared may not try out. All athletic paperwork must be completed online and Mr. Johnson, our APA, conducts clearances prior to the start of each season.
-FAST testing begins on the 19th. These state tests help us gauge students' present levels and guide our planning to ensure student success.
-Picture Day is Thursday, August 21st through PE classes. If your child does not have a PE class, Mr. Daniels, our APC, will ensure that they are brought down to the gym during a different class.
-Interested in joining SAC? Our first meeting will be held in the Principal's Conference Room at 8:15am on the 21st. Come be a part of your child's educational experience. Please also consider joining PTSA.
-Attendance is important. Make sure your child is in school every day and if the need for an absence arises, please contact us to properly document the absence.
-A special shout out to Arise Church for the upgrades to our teacher planning areas. Teachers arrived on campus to beautifully furnished areas conducive for collaboration and planning. They also received Back to School goodie bags with lots of useful items. We value this partnership.
Remember: each day we are leading learning and lifting: the Stingray Way!

We're excited to kick off the 2025-26 school year. Welcome back, students and families!

Dear Rodgers Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to welcome you and your child to a brand-new school year! Tomorrow, August 11, marks the beginning of an exciting journey, and we want to ensure that all students are prepared for a smooth and successful start.
Important Reminder for Students:
This evening, students should check Canvas or the new Focus parent app to confirm their homeroom assignment. Every student will receive a brand-new pink schedule tomorrow morning in homeroom, which reflects their most up-to-date classes—even if they attended Open House. These schedules will be distributed in homeroom, so it’s essential that students know where to report.
Morning Arrival Procedures:
Students will not be permitted on campus before 9:15 AM. If early arrival is necessary, parents should plan to enroll their child in the morning HOST program.
Upon arrival—whether by foot, bike, bus, or car—students will be directed to one of two locations (they may not linger on the patio):
Students Having Breakfast will report to the cafeteria:
-6th Grade: Tables 1 through 6
-7th & 8th Grade: Tables 7 through 14
Students Not Having Breakfast will report to the gym:
-6th Grade: Right side of the gym just beyond the entrance
-7th & 8th Grade: Left side (nearest the bus ramp)
***After morning arrival, students will be released from either the cafeteria or the gym to go directly to their homeroom. In homeroom, teachers will distribute the new pink schedules. Students should no longer use the white Open House schedule after receiving the pink one.***
If a student is unable to access Canvas and does not know their homeroom, they should remain in their initial location (cafeteria or gym). Staff members with locator lists will assist them in finding their homeroom.
Please note: No parents will be permitted on campus to assist with this process. We have a strong team of staff ready to support all students and parents will be required to drop off in car line and exit campus.
New Student Registrations:
If your student registered last week and didn't have a schedule in Open House, their schedule should now be ready and will be distributed in homeroom tomorrow morning. An adult with a locator will help your child find their homeroom.
If you know someone who hasn’t registered their student, please spread the word that registration packets will be provided on the first day of school, but class schedules will not be available until the following day. We appreciate your patience as we work to ensure every student is properly enrolled and placed.
Car Line Reminder
As you approach the school via McMullen Road and turn onto Tucker Road, please be sure to follow the designated car line route and pull all the way forward to the official drop-off area at the front of the school.
🚫 Do not drop off students in the back of the car line or any unauthorized areas.
✅ This helps ensure a safe, efficient, and orderly arrival for all students.
We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our campus safe and our mornings running smoothly!
Schedule Change Notice:
At this time, schedule changes will not be made. Our school counselors will be focusing primarily on resolving scheduling errors and addressing issues such as missing or duplicate courses. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to ensure all students have accurate and complete schedules.

We understand many families may be attending multiple events that evening, so we’ve designed the first hour to help you gather important information before heading to homeroom:
From 5:00–6:00 PM, visit the cafeteria to learn about our Cambridge program, HOST, PTSA, clubs, and electives. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet Mrs. Duran, our new principal!
Mr. Johnson, APA, will be available to answer questions about transportation and athletics.
Signs will guide you from the north side of the parking lot to the cafeteria.
Please note:
New registrations and schedule creation will not take place during Open House.
Families can tour the campus and gather helpful information.

If you notice an error in your student’s schedule, please visit the cafeteria to speak with a counselor, or Mr. Daniels, APC. While schedule changes will not be made during Open House, they can be addressed as needed during the first two weeks of school.
