Our Nelson community owes a great debt to its veterans. Through untold courage and sacrifice, America's veterans have secured the freedoms that each of us cherish in this great nation. Whenever and wherever the nation has called, America's veterans have been there.
To honor our courageous veterans, Nelson Elementary will create our own Wall of Honor. Please complete this form about any family member who is/was a United States veteran (alive or deceased). Contact your child's teacher for additional information.
In addition to the Wall of Honor, Nelson Elementary has planned a Veterans Day event on Tuesday, November 10, at 8:30 AM. This program will teach our Eagles about Veterans Day, recognize Veterans for their service and honor them for their sacrifices.
Please join us on November 10 to enjoy special performances by our Nelson Elementary Chorus and the presentation of Colors by the Durant High School ROTC Color Guard.
We look forward to seeing you at the Veterans Day Program on Tuesday, November 10, at 8:30 AM.
