This April, we celebrate the strength and resilience of military children. They play a vital role in the well-being of our military families, facing unique challenges and demonstrating incredible adaptability. Established in 1986, Month of the Military Child honors these resilient young people.
Nelson Elementary is encouraging everyone to Purple Up! Wear purple on Wednesday, April 15th, 2026, to show your support and appreciation for our military children. Purple is a combination of the colors representing all branches of the military, symbolizing the unity of our forces. Check out the attached Purple Up Spirit Week flyer for fun ways to support our military from April 13 - 17.
