Career Readiness Orientation for 8th Grade Students
On March 4, 2026, Marshall’s 8th grade students participated in a Career Readiness Orientation as part of our Community Schools commitment to preparing students for future success. Students explored their interests, strengths, and future opportunities through career interest surveys and goal-setting activities that encourage early planning for high school and beyond.
The session was facilitated by Mr. Tyson Hyde and Mrs. Shalini Rajpaul, M.Ed., Workforce Program Advisors with Career, Technical & Adult Education. Mrs. Rajpaul also serves as a Parent Advisor on the Marshall Community Schools Cabinet, helping strengthen partnerships between our school, families, and community.
Students also engaged in Xello career exploration activities in collaboration with the 8th Grade Social Studies team—Mrs. Stephens, Mrs. Bush, and Mr. Campbell—and 8th Grade Counselor Mrs. Pareja, helping students connect their interests with future high school pathways and career goals.
Special thanks to Mrs. Armas-Rivera, Mrs. Boyer, and Mrs. Pizarro for allowing us to work with their students and support this important experience.
