SLAM is a reading program for all Hillsborough County K-12 students which celebrates and promotes reading books nominated for state awards.
Students are encouraged to read Florida Award Nominated books and respond to them through artistic expression. Lutz K8 will hold a SLAM Showcase the week of January 26th to celebrate student reading and work. A county-level celebration, at the Tampa Convention Center, will be held on March 12th. The SLAM showcase displays the best examples from around Hillsborough County.
