The strawberry festival - Feb 26- March 8

February 26–March 8

Each spring, Plant City welcomes visitors from across Florida and around the world to celebrate the strawberry harvest. The Florida Strawberry Festival, which is considered one of the top fairs in the nation, features agriculture and horticulture exhibits, livestock shows, fine arts and crafts, lively parades, contests, youth programs, and big‑name entertainment—bringing classic American fair traditions to life.

The Plant City Lions Club started the festival in 1930. It was paused for six years during World War II and was revived in 1948. Volunteers and local civic groups have powered it ever since, keeping it community‑governed and focused on honoring the strawberry’s agricultural and historical legacy.

Today, the Festival shines a spotlight on local farmers who plant more than 10,000 acres of strawberries each year. Their work contributes to Hillsborough County’s diverse farm economy—valued at over $360 million—which also includes citrus, tomatoes, cucumbers, dairy, eggs, tropical fish, and more. Come experience the charm of Plant City and enjoy ripe, delicious strawberries with the growers who bring them to market!
