COZY UP AND GRAB A BOOK 📚❄️ Don't forget, the Superintendent’s Winter Break Reading Challenge is underway! Students in PreK–12 are encouraged to grab their favorite book during Winter Break and log every minute they spend reading.
Through Monday, January 5, students can record their reading in Beanstack (Visit hub.hcps.net and click on the Beanstack icon to get started).
Schools with the highest participation will earn a Reader Leader trophy and $500 for library books! Winners will be announced during Celebrate Literacy Week, January 26 through 30.

Join our upcoming ELL Virtual Academy (Academia Virtual Familiar de ESOL)!
The event will take place on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. (ET) via Zoom. During this session, families will learn practical strategies to support their child’s literacy development in their home language, as well as receive important resources and information.

Working in mixed-school teams, students were challenged to design opportunities that make healthy living easier, more accessible, and more joyful for everyone in their communities. 💡💚
After pitching their innovative ideas to a panel of judges, the top three teams were awarded prizes for their creativity and problem-solving! ✨

Leto is hosting the HCPS Spanish Language College and Career Night on Wednesday 11/5 at 6pm. Juniors and Seniors, this is for you! And it is all in Spanish!

Join us as we honor their stories and recognize the voices that continue to shape and strengthen our communities.

To receive support, please stop by the table in front of the elevators at conferences to take a bag of groceries. You may also sign up to be sponsored for a Thanksgiving meal at this time or by emailing Ms. Proctor at Lissete.Koessick1@hcps.net. Thanksgiving meals and any other donations collected beyond Conference Night will be sent home the Friday before fall break on 11/21.
To provide support, please bring in to the front vestibule c/o Ms. Palek: rice, pasta, boxed mac & cheese, canned beans/lentils, canned meats, pasta sauces, canned veggies & fruits, soups, cereal, etc.
