Congratulations to Alexander Perez, one of three seniors selected to receive the Superintendent’s 2-Year Florida Prepaid College Scholarship!
This senior from King High School has had to overcome challenges that many of his peers could never begin to imagine. Despite it all, Alexander has excelled. He will graduate as the salutatorian of his class and plans to attend the University of South Florida, where he will major in psychology.
We are incredibly proud of you, Alexander, and know you will continue to defy the odds and accomplish great things in this next chapter of your life!

Students from the Finance Academies at Armwood, Brandon, Jefferson, and King came together this morning for the NAF Academy of Finance Completers’ Celebration at The Regency in Brandon.
Students heard inspiring words from Jefferson alum and NAF alum speaker Valeria Yepez, keynote speaker Paola Woodruff—VP of Servicing Operations at Grow Financial Credit Union and also a Jefferson graduate!
The highlight of the event: $90,000 in scholarships awarded to Finance Academy students, presented by Chris Taylor, of CT Equity Group, LLC, on behalf of the William A. Gregory Foundation. 🎓💼

Summer 2026 Drivers Education program registration is now open!
Students ages 15–18 with a valid Florida learner’s license can register for a two-week session at one of seven high school locations. The program cost is $300.

Each student was presented with a plaque recognizing their academic achievements, as well as their effort, perseverance, and commitment to reaching their goals.

The program culminated with student presentations to distinguished guests, including parents, doctors, and Moffitt researchers 👩⚕️👨🔬. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity provided valuable insight into careers in biomedical science and research 🎓✨.










The HCPS RAISE High School Tutoring Program is now accepting applications for the summer! This initiative is designed to train, equip, and support juniors and seniors as they tutor kindergarten through 3rd-grade students in early literacy skills.
Participants will earn volunteer service hours and may qualify for the New Worlds Scholar award from the Florida Department of Education.
