Tampa, Fl. (March 10, 2026) – The Gaither High School U.S. Navy Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (NJROTC) program captured a first-place victory at the 2026 U.S. Navy JROTC Academic, Athletic, and Drill State Competition, held Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Spoto High School.
Competing against top JROTC programs from across Florida, Gaither cadets earned the state championship through strong performances in academic knowledge, physical fitness, and precision drill, showcasing teamwork, discipline, and leadership at the highest level.
With the state title secured, Gaither High School’s NJROTC team has qualified to advance to the national competition, where they will represent Florida and Hillsborough County Public Schools on March 25, 2026, competing against elite programs from across the country.
“This achievement reflects the dedication of our cadets and the outstanding commitment of their instructors,” said Gaither High School Principal Dr. Jeremy D. Klein, who congratulated the team following the win. “We are incredibly proud of their hard work and the way they represent our school and community.”
The NJROTC program at Gaither High School focuses on developing citizenship, leadership, responsibility, and service, providing students with skills that extend far beyond competition.
