Today Mrs. Pacelli's classroom was filled with curiosity, awe, and just the right amount of “ick factor,” a reminder of how powerful experiential, place-based learning can be in making science stick. That’s thanks to Carly and Natalie from Tampa Bay Watch, who brought plankton into our classroom for students to observe up close.
Students explored the hidden world of microscopic life under the microscope, spotting copepods and other tiny organisms many had never seen before.
Afterward, they applied what they observed by creating their own plankton models using plasticine.
Thanks Tampa Bay Watch!
