Yesterday our Dowdell team had the incredible opportunity to participate in Everglades Literacy Training, led by the amazing Tate Vangellow from the Everglades Foundation.
The session was hands-on, engaging, and packed with practical strategies we can bring directly into our classrooms. Teachers explored real-world Everglades science, experimented with interactive activities, and gained valuable tools to help students connect with Florida’s ecosystems in meaningful and exciting ways.
We’re grateful to Tate for leading such an inspiring session and for helping us strengthen our Environmental & Animal Science Magnet Program. Our students will absolutely benefit from the passion, expertise, and resources shared.
At Dowdell Middle Magnet, we’re committed to helping students GO WILD. To Wonder, Impact, Link, and Defend—and this training is another step toward bringing authentic environmental learning to life.
Thank you, Tate, and thank you to our dedicated staff for continuing to grow together
