Give your child a strong start before kindergarten! This summer, Hillsborough County Public Schools is offering a FREE 30-day Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program for eligible children entering kindergarten in August 2026.
Program Dates: June 3 – July 23, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Participating Elementary Schools:
Bryan, Chiles, Cypress Creek, Davis, DeSoto, Lanier, McKitrick, Roosevelt, Schmidt, Twin Lakes, Valrico
How to Enroll
Step 1: Apply for Your COE
Visit Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County (elchc.org) to complete your application for the required Certificate of Eligibility (COE).
Apply early—processing can take time.
Step 2: Secure Your Seat
Once you receive your COE, contact your preferred school to schedule a time to bring in your certificate and finalize enrollment.
Eligibility Requirements
Child must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026
Child must not have previously attended a VPK program during the school year

Proof of your child’s date of birth
Proof of Florida residency
