Chamberlain High School wants its students, staff and parents to know the district is serious about safety. Precautionary measures include 24/7 surveillance, Centegix Emergency Staff Alert System, controlled access to all facilities and School Resource Officers at district campuses. Also, Chamberlain High School has adopted the following Student Identification Card guidelines.

ALL students will wear their Student ID visibly on their person at or above the waist while on campus. NO Student will be allowed on Campus without a Student ID.

  • Students are NOT allowed to deface their IDs by coloring, adding stickers, punching holes, or changing the design of the ID. Students may use and decorate their own lanyard, as long as it does not interfere with the visibility of the ID.

All Students will be provided with their initial Student ID at no cost. Replacement ID cards will require a fee of increasing amounts.

  • Social Workers/School Counselors can work with students to provide access to an additional replacement, if they meet the criteria for economically disadvantaged students as defined by the guidelines set forth by the state of Florida and complete a restorative process to show how they will be more responsible with the replacement card.

ALL Students will present their Student ID to ANY Staff Member upon request at ANYTIME. Any refusal to present a valid Student ID will result in the student being considered a non-student on the Campus and appropriate actions will be taken.

ALL Students will have 2 warnings per quarter if they forget their ID. They will be provided with a Temporary ID for the day. Students without their ID must report to Student Affairs upon arrival at school to be issued a Temporary ID. No Temporary ID’s will be issued after 1st period. Students holding a temporary ID will only be allowed admission to class and to eat lunch no other movement will be allowed.

  • After 2 warnings, a student arriving at school without their Student ID will have the option to purchase a new ID or will be placed in ISS until they bring their Student ID with them to school.

  • Any student found with an ID other than their own will be suspended immediately.

Student ID cards will be required for all activities and movements on campus.

Student ID card will be required to scan/ be presented:

  • For student sign-in/sign-out

  • To enter classrooms

  • To receive/purchase Breakfast/Lunch

  • To be issued a Hall Pass

  • To access the Media Center

  • Check out materials from the Media Center

  • To attend club meetings

  • To attend pep rallies and other incentive activities

Staff: Check that ALL students have a visible ID as they enter the building EVERYDAY to verify that they are in fact a Chamberlain student. If they do not have their ID, they will need to be escorted to Student Affairs for a Temporary ID.

Teachers: Check that ALL students have a visible ID as they enter class EVERY period, EVERYDAY. This will help ensure all students are wearing their IDs at all times and that they are going to the correct classes. Substitutes will have a class roster that they will use to verify each student’s identity and that they are in that class. *The goal is to purchase ID scanners for every classroom that will take automatic attendance.

Lunch staff: Staff will check student IDs as they enter the cafeteria to ensure they are in the correct lunch. Cafeteria staff will check students IDs as they order food to verify they have put in the correct student # and that they are in the correct lunch. IF a student is found in the wrong lunch, they will be immediately escorted to ISS where they will remain for the rest of the day.

Hall Monitors: Check the student’s ID against the Securly system to verify they have a pass to be in the hallway. IF they are not in the Securly system, they should be escorted back to class. IF they do not have an ID, they should be escorted to Student Affairs.

Counselors: In the event that a student gets a schedule change and it impacts their 4th period, notify Student Affairs immediately so that she can create the new ID. This should be distributed by Student Services with the new schedule.

Pep Rallies, Sports, and other events: Staff will check that ALL students have a visible ID as they enter the event. Students may be required to show their ID to purchase tickets to certain events.
