Principal's Message
It is with great excitement and gratitude that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Dorothy Thomas Exceptional Center. After proudly serving as Assistant Principal for the past eight years, I am honored to continue supporting this incredible school community in a new role.
Dorothy Thomas holds a special place in my heart, and I am committed to ensuring every student has access to a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. I look forward to working alongside our dedicated staff, families, and community partners as we continue helping every student reach their full potential.

Our school was thoughtfully designed to provide a safe, supportive setting that minimizes auditory and visual distractions and helps students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Dorothy Thomas has caring educators and support staff who create a safe, welcoming environment where every student can learn and grow. Our school also has a dedicated School Resource Officer (SRO), Officer Kidder, providing an added layer of safety and security.

Core Curriculum
Students receive instruction in the core academic areas, including reading, writing, mathematics, and science, with learning experiences tailored to their individual needs and goals.
Engaging Electives
Learning goes beyond core subjects with engaging electives that give students opportunities to create, explore, and gain real-world skills through cooking, TV production, music, art, and science.
Learning Through Positive Reinforcement
Students are encouraged to make positive choices and reach their goals through a supportive incentive program. Students can earn special privileges and activities, such as time in the TV studio or TERP room, by demonstrating positive behavior.
