Oak Grove Jaguar Families!
We are so excited to get started in our pursuit of excellence this next school year! I look forward to seeing all your smiling faces as we work together to meet our goals. This year, our school and students are “enchanted by learning”. We will role our School Wide house system. Students, staff, and families will be inducted into one of our six houses:Transformation, Confidence, Persistence, Wisdom, Resilience, and Community. This will bring everyone together to pursue academic excellence.
Jerry Franchino, Principal
Oak Grove Elementary celebrates our community's diversity with our Heritage Night and Black History Living Museum. Heritage Night, held in September, invites the community to the school to share food from their cultural backgrounds. Our Living Museum takes place in February, celebrating accomplished black authors, musicians, actors/actresses, historical figures, and universities
Last year, we built our STEM Gardens during our STEM Night. Throughout the year, students will grow plants to engage in hands-on science learning.
Oak Grove Elementary provides students with opportunities to engage and develop a love for music. Mr. Hagen leads our Rock band, Chorus, and Instruments of Change. Instruments of Change is a program that allows students to play the trumpet or clarinet during the school year. Students display their musical talent at two concerts throughout the year.
Oak Grove Elementary has literacy bowl competitions planned for all grade levels this year! Fly Guy, Fairy Tale, Goosebumps, and SLAM! We foster the love of reading at Oak Grove Elementary!
Students will compete this fall in the Science Olympics! Marble Roller Coaster, Marshmallow Launchers, and Paper Airplanes! Which students will represent Oak Grove in the district competition?
