Junior Achievement
JA Finance Park first provides a series of lessons in the classroom to 8th grade students where they learn about all aspects of personal finance including balancing a family budget, interest rates, how education affects their earning potential, and how saving today can affect their future. Then, students come to JA Finance Park at the Bill Poe Family JA Center to put their new knowledge into action. The students assume randomly assigned family and income scenarios and visit businesses to gather information for their personal financial decision-making. They utilize banking services, purchase housing, transportation, insurance, furnishings, health care, and other expenses, as well as make investment decisions.History Fair
Our district hosts the regional contest of the National History Day competition. Students enter as either individual or team competitors at the middle or high school level. They conduct research and prepare entries around an annual theme in Research Paper, Performance, Website, Documentary or Exhibition categories. Top district entries move on to the state competition, and from there top entries move on to the national competition for prizes including scholarships.Worlds of Wisdom Social Studies Academic Tournament

The rounds are comprised of 15–20 questions from all content in 6-8 Social Studies, including current events and American traditions.
