The growing complexity of the world and increasing demands of the 21st-century workforce requires all students graduate from high school fully prepared for college AND careers. To be college- and career-ready, we must provide students rigorous and broad curriculum that includes the arts. This education develops competencies in critical thinking and problem solving, social and cross cultural skills, innovation and adaptability, creativity, communication, collaboration, new media literacy, interdisciplinary literacy, initiative and leadership– resulting in college and career readiness.
