National Honor Society - Jule F. Sumner Highschool

  • Program Overview

The National Honor Society aims to recognize outstanding high school students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. By fostering these qualities, NHS seeks to inspire and empower students to make meaningful contributions to their communities and strive for academic and personal growth.

Students in the National Honor Society actively engage in various service projects, leadership opportunities, and academic initiatives within their school and local communities. From organizing fundraisers and volunteer events to mentoring peers and participating in academic competitions, NHS members demonstrate a commitment to service, leadership, scholarship, and character development. Through their involvement, they strive to make a positive impact and uphold the values of the organization.

To become a member of the National Honor Society, students must meet rigorous criteria, typically including a high GPA, demonstrated leadership abilities, involvement in community service activities, and a strong record of good character. Candidates are evaluated based on academic achievement, leadership potential, service contributions, and adherence to ethical principles.
