     Program Description  

    This course is designed to teach and give hands-on training to individuals desiring to enter the field of phlebotomy. This clinical laboratory science profession involves working with blood extraction.  The primary goal is to instill the latest information about blood collection techniques, skills, and equipment for safe, effective specimen collection.

    Upon completion of this course, students will have the opportunity to earn Healthcare Provider CPR certification, First Aid training and take the National Health Association Phlebotomy Certification exam, as well as identification of Domestic Violence, Infection Control, Nutrition, Blood Borne Pathogens, Legal Aspects of Phlebotomy and Employability Skills. 

    What can I expect to earn as an entry level Phlebotomist?  
    Hourly wages will vary depending on where you are hired.  The average range for an entry level Phlebotomist is $12.00-$15.00 per hour.
