SAFETY INFORMATION: Car Line Procedures

Quick Tip Car Line Reminders

  • Arrive on campus at 7:45 or later.
  • Students can exit vehicles at 7:50.
  • Don’t block dirt access road used by buses and HOST & ESE families.
  • Don’t enter through exit. Use entrance closest to Gunn Hwy only.
  • Obey all stop signs on campus.
  • Vehicles coming form the bus ramp have the right of way. Please leave a space in the line so they can easily exit.
  • Do not park in front of Walker, Hammond or nearby to drop off or pick up students.
  • BE PATIENT! 😊

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office: With safety as a top priority, we are happy to have the support of the HSCO. Marked and unmarked Deputies will be patrolling during AM and PM car line. Please be sure to follow all traffic laws so you are not ticketed.

Families of Students with Special Needs: Families of our special needs students have been instructed to drop off/pick up students in the area that the buses unload. No other vehicles are permitted in the bus area. They will have a BRIGHT BLUE car line tag in the vehicle—please allow them to merge and pass as needed.

HOST Students: HOST students may be dropped off in the bus ramp area until 7:50 a.m. (when HOST ends). HOST families will be provided with a BRIGHT YELLOW tag to display for drop off. After 7:50 a.m. HOST students will need to be dropped off in the regular car line.

Music Students Practicing in AM: Music students who are attending practice that begins prior to the car line opening, may drop off in the bus ramp area PRIOR TO 7:50 a.m. ONLY. Practicing music students will have a BRIGHT ORANGE tag to display for drop off. Once the car line opens at 7:50 a.m., all music students should be dropped off in the regular carline.

Entering Campus During Car Line: You may enter campus at 7:45 a.m. Parking in the car circle is not permitted until this time. Always enter campus through the west entrance closest to Gunn Hwy. The other entrance is for exiting campus only during carline.

Dirt Path & Buses: Do not block or enter the dirt path to the right upon your entry to campus. This area is for our AM HOST families, buses, day care providers and families of special needs students (who will have a BRIGHT BLUE or BRIGHT YELLOW car line tag in the vehicle). Please allow them to merge and pass as needed.

Double Lanes: When waiting in the carline, please create double lanes when possible. This reduces the number of cars sitting on North Mobley and Gunn for extended periods. Stay In Your Vehicle: Stay in your vehicle during car line. Also, do not park in a parking space during car line, unless you have business inside the school.

Safe Areas to Drop Off/Pick Up: Always drop off/pick up students in the car circle or other designated area. NEVER allow your student to exit/enter your vehicle on North Mobley, in the parking lot or near Hammond's property. Pull Forward: Always pull as far forward as possible during car line. Staff and signage are in place to assist you with proceeding to the appropriate area to stop. If we ask or wave for you to keep moving forward, please do so—your student will meet you there. Come to a full stop before allowing your student to enter or exit your vehicle. Do not park in a parking space during car line unless you have business inside the school.

Consider CARPOOLING! If you are interested in carpooling, contact our PTSA at walkerptsainfo@gmail.com . They can send you a link to a Google Drive that lists other parents interested in carpooling by area (Westchase, Carrollwood, Lutz).
