    School Hours:          8:30 a.m. –3:25 p.m.      2:25 p.m. Every Monday – Early Release Day

     

    Please bring your child to school by 8:25: this will allow them time to be in first period by 8:30 a.m.  If they arrive in 1st period after 8:30 they will be marked unexcused tardyStudents may be dropped off in the front of the school NO EARLIER than 7:50a.m. 

     

    Student Sign-In & Tardies: If your child is tardy to school, you must park and accompany him/her to the Main Office to sign in. Those students signing in unaccompanied will be reported as unexcused tardy. 

     

    Student Sign-Out:  No sign-outs after 3:00 p.m. to avoid interference with dismissal procedures.  When signing your child out of school, please come to the Main Office. Students will be called down for pick up ONLY when parent/guardian arrives in the office and I.D. has been verified. You must present a photo I.D. and must be listed on the emergency card. 

     

    Only individuals indicated on the emergency card will be allowed to sign out students. 

     

    Absences:  Please make every effort to report your child’s absence prior to 8:30 a.m. on the absentee phone line, (813) 631-4489. Be sure to include the following information: student name and telephone number 

     

    Agenda:  We would like our students to be organized for class each day. Also, we want to provide our teachers an excellent method to communicate with parents and for parents to have a method to share information with teachers. Therefore, each Year 1 student at Walker is given their first “AGENDA” from Walker that takes care of this task. Year 2 & Year 3 students will need to purchase their own agenda. We highly recommend encouraging your child to be responsible and not lose the agenda and ask you to check the agenda at least once a week.  

     

    Uniforms: The school uniform consists of the following: Hunter Green, Black or White polo shirts with Khaki or Black colored shorts, pants, capris, or skirts - these may be purchased at any store as long as they comply with the Hillsborough County dress code requirements. Shirts with the school logo may be purchased on our school website. All students will need to purchase P.E. uniforms from the B&B sports store. Please follow district guidelines regarding the length of shorts.(Recommend 7 inch inseam,)  “Hemlines shall be no shorter than fingertip length”, per Student Code of Conduct: Page 51-52 https://www.hillsboroughschools.org/conduct . Rips and holes are discouraged. No skin may show through rips/holes. No yoga pants or leggings.     Cell Phones:  Per District policy, cell phones are allowed on campus, but they must remain turned off at all times during the school dayThe District allows students to carry cell phones for use before or after school. If there is an emergency, you can call the school (813-631-4726) and we will contact your child. Likewise, if your child needs to contact you because of any emergency, they may come to the Main Office and call home. Parents will be called and required to come to the main office to pick up student cell phones if students have them out during the day. 

     

    Lunches:  Hot Meals - $2.75 (subject to increase), A la Carte - $1.00 to $3.50 (approximate cost). If a parent qualifies, students may participate in the free or reduced meal program. Please send your child with money for the first few days while applications for assistance are processed. You may also pay for lunches online in the “Prepay Meal” the Hillsborough County Schools Website under Student Nutrition.  

    Breakfast will be served free to all Hillsborough County students. 

     

    Immunization Requirements for School Entry:  Every child entitled to entrance to kindergarten or entitled to any other initial entrance to a Florida school (K-12), shall present a certification of a school entry health examination performed within one (1) year prior to enrollment into a Florida school. A pupil shall be exempted from this requirement only upon written request of the parent or guardian stating objections on religious grounds.

    In an effort to respect and maximize instructional time, we WILL NOT receive non-medical items or call classrooms for deliveries at any time during the school day.
