    Student Led Transition Program
Student 2 Student (S2S) is a peer-to-peer student-led program that brings military and civilian students together to welcome new students, create a positive environment for all, support educational opportunities, build connections through service, and ease transitions. S2S helps to ease the transition and give incoming students the best possible experience.

    Our S2S team will:

    • Provide new students a tour
    • Eat lunch with new students
    • Share information on clubs, athletic and other extra-curricular activities
    • Provide academic resources and encouragement
    • Share information about the local area
    • Provide activities to the new student to help them meet others
    • 100% Acceptance: Respect for EVERY student no matter their differences
    • Actively engage in serving the school and community

    Exceptional Student Education:

Families can contact Lisa Feroben at lisa.feroben@hcps.net with questions regarding Exceptional Student Education.

If you are transitioning to the area and have questions about services in Hillsborough County Public Schools contact the Choice Information Line at 813-272-4692 and identify yourself as a transitioning military family to connect with the Exceptional Student Education Department.

    Mental Health Resources

There are many challenges military students face due to their unique situation, such as having a parent deployed for extended periods of time, changing schools, and leaving friends.  Your child’s School Student Services staff which includes our School Counselor and School Social Worker can provide support and share resources to assist during these challenging times. Families can also visit the HCPS Mental Health Matters site for additional resources.
