Programs currently offered at HTC are Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Technician, Surgical Technology, Central Sterile Processing Technology, Pharmacy Technician.
Programs not currently offered at HTC but are pathways are Electrocardiograph Technology, Emergency Medical Responder, Health Unit Coordinator/Monitor Technician, Hemodialysis Technician, Home Health Aide, Medical Laboratory Assistant, Mental Health Technician, Nursing Assistant, Orthopedic Technology, Patient Care Technician

What is IET?
•IET stands for Integrated Education and Training.•IET is a service approach that provides adult education and literacy activities concurrently and contextually with workforce preparation activities and workforce training for a specific occupation or occupational cluster for the purpose of educational and career advancement. -
Learner Goals
•By the end of the IET program, achieve a minimum English language proficiency level of Advanced (Level 6) in both Reading and Listening.•Within 90 days from the conclusion of the IET Program, transition to a full-time career technical program in the Health Science cluster or obtain a job in the sector they receive training for in the IET program. -
Program Goals
At the conclusion of the IET Program:
•Maintain 100% attendance in CTE and 80% attendance in AE.•Administer a minimum of one (1) post test in Adult ESOL.•Increase the education functioning levels of 100% students as evidenced by measurable skills gains (MSG) by at last one (1) point which represents an increase in students’ English language proficiency.•100% of program participants will have taken the Phlebotomy Technician certification exams.•Provide on-ramps for at least 80% of students to enter a career pathway that results in living-wage employment by obtaining an industry certification in either Nursing Assistant or Phlebotomy Technician. -
Partner Goals
Within 90 days from the conclusion of the IET Program:
•Develop a diverse candidate pool for prospective employers.•Create a pipeline for the following postsecondary programs: Patient Care Technician, Home Health Aide, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Technician, Pharmacy Technician, and Practical Nursing. -

•Age 18 or Above•Minimum Level 5 in CASAS Reading and Listening Skills•Hillsborough County Resident•Digital Literacy•Background Check•Commitment to Complete Full Program•GED or High School Diploma -

Program Expectations
•Students should have a complete set of learning materials before coming to class.•Students should arrive to class on-time.•Students should participate in classroom lessons and activities.•Students should be able to access to technology and complete reading assignments outside of class time.•Students must have 100% attendance in CTE Program (165 hours).•Students should communicate with instructors if you have a problem affecting program participation.•Students should let their instructors know when they gain employment in their chosen career field. -

What You Will Learn
•Infection control following standard precautions•Scope of practice (job skills and duties)•Phlebotomy in relation to the health care setting•Identify anatomic structure and function of body system as it relates to phlebotomy•Skills and knowledge necessary to perform phlebotomy•Recognize and identify collection supplies and equipment•Accepted procedures for transporting and processing specimens -

The Dress Code for Phlebotomists are typically scrubs and enclosed shoes to prevent any blood stains, needle drops, or anything from hitting your toes.
Scrubs and enclosed shoes may be purchased from a variety of stores such as Walmart, Uniform City, Scrubs N Stuff, Discount Uniform Store as well as from online suppliers such as Amazon.
