    English as a second language learners, foreign-trained professionals, GED students who are level 5 or better in reading and math, adults with disabilities  

    Career Pathway
    Programs currently offered at HTC are Phlebotomist, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Technician, Surgical Technology, Central Sterile Processing Technology, Pharmacy Technician. 
    Programs not currently offered at HTC but are pathways are Electrocardiograph Technology, Emergency Medical Responder, Health Unit Coordinator/Monitor Technician, Hemodialysis Technician, Home Health Aide, Medical Laboratory Assistant, Mental Health Technician, Nursing Assistant, Orthopedic Technology, Patient Care Assistant, Patient Care Technician

     

    Phlebotomists can advance their career in various ways
    1. Specialize in phlebotomy: A specialty in the phlebotomy field indicates the areas where you collect blood samples. Being a specialized phlebotomist may boost your yearly earnings and professional qualifications.
    2. Pursue a career in nursing as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, Medical Assistant, Medical Biller and Coder: Phlebotomists may consider gaining more education to pursue a career in nursing or another medical field.
    3. Work in different healthcare settings: Phlebotomists may consider new settings to work within their field, such as hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and labs.
    4. Become a medical lab technician (MLT): A career in MLT includes some further education, but it is well worth it. You will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures, analyzing results, and reporting findings.
