Major Concepts/Content: This is a course designed to prepare the student to provide/assist with all aspects of activities of daily living for the adult patient in both hospital and nursing home settings. The course, which is taught by a registered nurse, includes didactic instruction, skills practice in the laboratory and clinical experience. Emphasis is also placed on the development of communication, interpersonal, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Upon successful completion, the student is eligible to apply to sit for the Florida State Certified Nursing Assistant exam which qualifies as industry certification.
