I am extremely proud to be the principal here at the Boy’s Preparatory Academy here at Franklin Middle Magnet School. The strength of our school lies in the people and the instructional excellence they provide.  We have dedicated teachers who have a passion for seeing the whole child thrive and are committed to ongoing professional learning. Our teachers are committed to a shared vision of nurturing, inspiring and engaging scholars to develop critical thinking skills and make connections between subject groups. Our vision is “Molding young men of distinction who will achieve greatness.” Our scholars reach their highest potential when they are engaged in learning with an inquiry-based approach, meaning they learn to ask the questions that are important to their learning. Our way of learning is inherently reflective, prompting scholars to consider how the content affects their life, their community, and the world they want to live in. 

In my nearly two decades in education, I have been a classroom teacher, behavior specialist, MTSS coach, assistant principal, and principal. I have worked in elementary, middle, and high school in both traditional and alternative settings. I served three years in the U.S. Airforce.

My personal educational background includes:

• AA, General Studies, Saint Petersburg College
• BA, Accountancy, with a minor in Music, Florida A & M University
• BAS, Health Care Administration, University of South Florida
• MBA, University of South Florida
• EdD, American College of Education.  Dissertation  “A Qualitative Study on the Effectiveness of Dropout Prevention Programs”
