Please refer to the clubs, listed on the left of this page and below, to see what we did, last year!  We're looking forward to hosting many of the same and possibly new clubs, this year, so if you are interested in becoming involved in a club, please contact the club sponsor or ask a teacher to host your club.

Students worked on personal art projects with Mr. Vondruska. They worked with different materials and experiment with art while having fun. Most materials were provided; students brought a sketchbook and some of their own materials if they chose to.

Coding & Computer Games

Students gathered to play computer games like Minecraft, Microsoft Games, CoolMath, NitroType, Typing Club, Typing.com, and other available computer-based games. Students who were interested also created their own games, animations, and interactive applications using Scratch, Tynker, and Code.org. Snacks were provided!

Cyber Patriots

Want to learn Cybersecurity? This field is growing every day and this club opens future possibilities as well as helps yourself, your family, and your friends to avoid being hacked. Students learned some basics of Cybersecurity and competed in the National AFA CyberPatriot competitions!  Several students participated in the club without being on the competitive team.

Jazz Band

Jazz Band was an outlet for our 2^nd and 3rd year students ONLY to explore other musical styles not found in a concert band setting such as rock, jazz, blues, funk and other musical styles.

Checkmate: Chess Club

Want to learn chess? Want to improve cognitive and quick thinking? Students interacted with some of the best chess players in the school to gain skills and experiences that will last a lifetime.

Debate

This club promoted problem-solving in creative ways.  Students learned how to synthesize complex ideas, build self-confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and foster collaboration and respect.

Inline Skating

Students hung out on wheels. They improved balance, coordination, and flexibility. They exercised socially and improved/maintained fitness levels in the off season of their other team sports. They learned how to inline skate. They refined their existing skating skills and advanced their techniques in specialized skating disciplines like Speed, Slalom, Urban, Aggressive and Wizard. They discussed skate technique, tech and design and learned how to properly maintain their skates. All skill levels were welcome.

Come Equipped:

Inline skates were NOT provided. Students needed to have their own pair of skates and any other desired protective gear. Wrist guards were strongly recommended. Helmet, elbow pads, kneed pads and/or other crash pads were encouraged but can be limiting, so were, therefore, not required.

Liability Waiver:

In order to join the club, students and parents/guardians signed a liability wavier and medical release form. Be advised, the likelihood of minor injury, especially for the inexperienced skater, is relatively high. Sprained wrists, skinned knees, bumps and bruises are not uncommon.

Jazz Band

Students elevated their middle school experience with our Jazz Band! They immersed themselves in the dynamic world of jazz, mastering improvisation, syncopation, and captivating melodies. They joined a vibrant community of musicians, discovering the magic of teamwork and self-expression. From classic standards to contemporary fusion, they explored diverse genres while fostering unity and musical excellence. Members unleashed their creativityby becoming part of a rhythmic journey that transcends ordinary, making every note an extraordinary moment in their middle school life!

Media Mania

Do you like to produce media, write poetry, read books, create art, help others, and/or compete? Students who were interested in leading or participating in any of the activities listed below, signed up to be a part of the Inaugural Media Mania Club!

Year 1 Model United Nations 

Students who wanted to grow as public speakers, leaders, and/or negotiators joined the Model UN. Club members learned more about the world around us and how to make it a better place. They met to discuss global issues and collaborate to problem-solve. Year 1 students joined this club to prepare themselves for our year 2 & year 3 Model UN team where students participated at the international Model UN Conference in New York City!

Pop Orchestra

In this intermediate ensemble, orchestra students learned how to play pop music by ear while also learning how to collaborate with other musicians to create arrangements and full orchestra compositions by ear. The purpose of this ensemble was to supplement what was being taught in class by introducing students to a modern and challenging approach to music performance.

STEAM

Students interested in working with 3D printing, rocket launching, drones, LEGO engineering, Arduinos, and Maker's Space joined the STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts Math) club.
