Week of April 13 Update Message

This is Dr. McCree, proud principal of the Boys Preparatory Academy here at Franklin Middle Magnet School with your update call for the week of April 14th.
Update 1: Beginning this week we will have flipped schedules every Tuesday and Thursday. Scholars will have regular schedules Mondays and Fridays. House Days will continue on Wednesdays, and scholars will still have all classes on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s just in a reversed order. Lunches will not be impacted.
Update 2: Report Cards for Q3 will be available in the ParentVUE app on April 15th. Should you have any questions about your ParentVUE account please email Mrs. Lambert our data processor at Shamecka.Lambert@hcps.net.
Update 3: On Wednesday, April 15th, our flag football team will take on Memorial Middle School at Middleton High School.
Update 4: The 6th & 7th grade end of the year incentive field trip will be on Tuesday, April 29th to United Skates. The cost is $22 and includes transportation, skates, and all you can eat cheese pizza and drinks. Only scholars with no referrals in Q4 and teacher approval may attend. Payments will begin being accepted on mypaymentsplus.com starting tomorrow, April 14 through Friday April 25. (No refunds will be given).
As always I want to thank all of our Franklin BPA families for your support of our school. I encourage you even over these last few weeks to keep an eye on attendance and your sons grades. Every day and every assignment matters!
Please remind your son that his small electronics including but not limited to cellular devices are not allowed to be on or used during the school day. Please call the school if you need to get a message to him during the day. Finally, please remind your son if he is having an issue with anyone on campus to please seek out a trusted adult on campus so that we can help him solve it in the best way possible.

This week is National Assistant Principals Week. I want to give a special thank you to Mrs. Scribner our AP of Curriculum and Mr. Bradford our AP of Administration for their unyielding support and hard work to make Franklin a better place.
Update 1: Tomorrow, Monday April 7th
6th Grade scholars in Coach Milton’s Homeroom
7th Grade scholars in Mr. Jackson’s Homeroom &
8th Grade scholars in Mrs. Wilkes Homeroom class have earned a free dress day for being the grade level home rooms with the best attendance for March! Congratulations.
Update 2: Wednesday, April 9th our flag football team will compete against Sligh Middle at Sligh Middle School.
Update 3: On Friday, April 11th we will be hosting the annual Gold Star Family event honoring military families.
Important Reminders:
Parents please be advised that your scholars cannot be on campus prior to 7:45 am each morning. There is no supervision prior to that time, and should be picked up each day by 3:45 pm. Please know scholars who are dropped off or picked up after these times will be receiving warning letters with HOST information and next steps after warning letters may result in magnet revocation.
Parents, please also remind your son about our no hoodie policy this will be strictly enforced. Hoodies will be taken from scholars who where them during the school day and given back at the end of the day. Please refer to our school website for our complete dress code requirements. Please also remind your son if he is having an issue with anyone on campus to please make sure they seek out a trusted adult on campus so that we can help them solve it in the best way possible.

Week of March 23 Update

This is Dr. McCree, proud principal of the Boys Preparatory Academy here at Franklin Middle Magnet School with your update call for the week of March 23rd. I sincerely hope you all had a great spring break and are ready to come back and finish these last two months of school strong!
Update 1: Tomorrow, Monday March 24th all Hillsborough County Schools and offices will reopen.
Update 2: Parents please be advised that your scholars cannot be on campus prior to 7:45 am each morning. There is no supervision prior to that time, and scholars should be picked up each day by 3:45 pm. Please know scholars who are dropped off or picked up after these times will be receiving warning letters with HOST information and next steps after warning letters may result in magnet revocation.
Update 3: Our new vestibule is complete! Upon arriving at school, you will be asked your name and the purpose of your visit. ALL visitors will also be required to have and show their id to the camera before entrance into the school. Please know that if you are unable to produce an identification card, you will not be allowed on campus.

This is a reminder that cell phones and other electronic devices are also not permitted during the school day. These devices should be powered off and away in backpacks.

Week of March 9 Update

This is Dr. McCree, proud principal of the Boys Preparatory Academy here at Franklin Middle Magnet School with your update call for the week of March 9th.
Update 1: Tomorrow, 3/10 is the first day of flag football tryouts. ONLY scholars who have completed all paperwork and received approval from Mr. Bradford will be allowed to participate! The absolute deadline for paperwork submission is end of school tomorrow. Tryouts will be Monday through Thursday until 445 pm.
Update 2: The round 2 for Choice and Magnet application period starts tomorrow at 2pm.
Update 3: Wednesday is house day. All scholars are invited to wear their house shirts. Competitions will return this month.
Update 4: Parents we need your help. Over the last couple of weeks we are having more and more scholars on campus outside of the time scholars should be on campus.
Scholars should arrive on campus each morning no earlier than 7:45 am and should be picked up each day by 3:45 pm. Please know scholars who are dropped off or picked up after these times will be receiving warning letters with HOST information and next steps after warning letters may result in magnet revocation.
This is an additional reminder , please work with us on new safety protocols district wide. Upon arriving at school, you will be asked your name and the purpose of your visit. ALL visitors will also be required to have and show their id to the camera before entrance into the school. Please know that if you are unable to produce an identification card, you will not be allowed on campus. Our vestibule is now complete! All parents and visitors will now use the door to the far left.

Mid-Week Updates 3/5/2025

This is Dr. McCree, proud principal of the Boys Preparatory Academy here at Franklin Middle Magnet School with your midweek update call.
Update 1: Tomorrow, Thursday 3/6 our soccer team will be playing at Pierce Middle School at Leto High School.
Update 2: Tomorrow, from 5pm-7pm the regional Magnet Information night will be held at Hillsborough High School. Please attend and share this information with your friends and family.
Update 3: The Math Homework Hotline, a free service to scholars for math help will be open from 6pm to 7pm on tomorrow 3/6.

Our new vestibule is near completion! We are excited about this improvement to our overall school safety. Upon arriving at school, you will be asked your name and the purpose of your visit. ALL visitors will also be required to have and show their id to the camera before entrance into the school. Please know that if you are unable to produce an identification card, you will not be allowed on campus. Visitors will now enter using the far-left door, and the right door will be used by staff only. Please be prepared upon entrance to stop in our vestibule.
Parents, please remind your son about our no hoodie policy this will be strictly enforced. Please also remind your son that cell phones and other electronic devices cannot be out during the school day. All electronic devices must be powered off and away for the entire school day. Update 1: Tomorrow, our nation will celebrate Presidents’ Day. Officially known as Washington's Birthday, the first federal holiday of the year was originally meant to honor the country's first president, George Washington.
Update 2: The Celebration of Black History and 3rd Quarter Conference night will be held on BPA front lawn on Tuesday , 2/18 beginning at 5pm.
Update 3: Wednesday is our house day, all scholars are able to wear house shirts on this day.
Update 4: Regular and on time attendance is an extremely important part of scholar success. Throughout the month of February, we will be having homeroom perfect attendance contest.

Week of Febuary 9, 2025 Update

This is Dr. McCree, proud principal of the Boys Preparatory Academy here at Franklin Middle Magnet School with your update call for the week of February 9th.
Update 1: The second soccer game will be Monday, 2/10 at Middleton High School against Webb.
Update 2: Wednesday is our house day, all scholars are able to wear house shirts on this day.
Update 3: Our 2nd semester dance with Ferral Girls Preparatory Academy will be Thursday 2/13 at Franklin. Concessions will be available and will be cash only.
Update 4: The Celebration of Black History and 3rd Quarter Conference night will be held on BPA front lawn on Thursday, 2/18 beginning at 5pm.
Update 5: This week our culinary staff will feature Caribbean chicken, smothered burgers, and Louisiana chicken sandwiches.
Update 6: Regular and on time attendance is an extremely important part of scholar success. Throughout the month of February, we will be having homeroom perfect attendance contest.
