A Team Cultivating Dreams
Our team of families, staff and community power student success at Adams Middle, continually a state-recognized "5 Star School” in Tampa’s historic Forest Hills neighborhood. Our Culinary Arts classes are rarely offered in other middle schools, our Career & Workforce courses lead to valuable industry certifications and our "Superior”-rated Band, Chorus and Orchestra programs provide students with distinctive Music options. Sports teams and a variety of clubs such as Robotics and Student Council encourage our students to cultivate their dreams. Our Scholar Quest offerings include high school credit courses to challenge students. Through Electives, our students sample a range of exciting courses—including Computers for College & Career, Spanish, Robotics, Music, Business Technology and AVID college readiness—then pursue the options that best spark their interests. Our Sixth Grade Structure helps students feel at home in their new learning environment. At Adams, a team effort drives success for every student.
John Q. Adams Middle School was named for the 6th United States President whose administration served one term from 1825 to 1829. Adams Middle School was previously a junior high school, serving grades seven through nine, but then converted into a middle school, serving grades 6th, 7th and 8th. The school was dedicated in a dual ceremony on November 9, 1958, recognizing both the junior high and its neighbor, Forest Hills Elementary School.
