Certified Nursing Assistant (Pre-Nursing)

Certified Nursing Assistants or CNAs help patients with direct healthcare needs under the supervision of a nurse or other medical staff. CNA responsibilities include checking vital signs, turning, moving, grooming, transporting, and feeding patients, documenting information, cleaning rooms and stocking supplies, and some CNAs receive advanced training to perform additional duties.
- At age 18, students may sit for their CNA exam

Biomedical Sciences (Allied Health)

This pathway will prepare students for entry into an associate’s degree program to become a laboratory technician or a biomedical equipment technician. Both careers require a high level of detail-oriented thinking, the ability to precisely follow instructions, and an eye for analyzing data and using technology.
- At age 18, students may sit for their BACE exam (Biotechnician Assistant Credentialing Exam) through Biotility

EKG Technician (Cardiology)
- EKG technicians use an electrocardiograph machine to obtain a clear EKG/ECG reading for the ordering physician to create a diagnosis and care plan. EKG techs will explain the process to their patient, appropriately position each patient, attach the necessary electrodes properly on the patient’s skin, and then connect the leads to the machine.
- Florida does not require licensure, however our program will prepare students to take the national CET exam

Emergency Medical Responder
- Emergency Medical Responders or EMRs provide immediate lifesaving care to critical patients who access the emergency medical services system. EMRs have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide lifesaving interventions with minimal equipment while awaiting the arrival of additional Emergency Medical Services resources.
- Becoming an EMR is a first step to many other careers, including police officer, firefighter, EMT, paramedic, and park ranger

Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (Allied Health)

Certified Medical Administrative Assistants or CMAAs are also called medical office assistants. They’re critical to keeping healthcare offices running smoothly. They correspond with patients, nurses, and physicians by phone, email, and in-person communications. They update and maintain medical records, set schedules, operate office equipment, and much more.

At age 18, students will be prepared to sit for their CMAA exam
- Many medical assistants go on to become medical practice office managers, an integral part of private patient care services.
