In the heart of Northdale, Ben Hill Middle is creating leaders by offering a student-centered educational experience. Our Scholar Quest high school credit offerings include Math and Science Honors, Spanish and Digital Information Technology. Our Electives engage students as they sample our award-winning Culinary program, Music, Robotics and more before focusing on their favorite options in-depth. Classmates connect through our many sports teams, while clubs such as National Junior Honors Society, Ambassador Leadership Academy and Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE) encourage students to make an impact in our community. Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) develops a culture in which students feel included in problem-solving and building relationships. Our Sixth Grade Structure includes a summer transition camp helping students feel supported and empowered in their new learning environment. In our Ben Hill Bears, we encourage students to share in curriculum decision-making—as our students achieve Bear Character: Citizenship, Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness and Caring.
Using respect, responsibility, and relationships to fosterstudent achievement
Prepare students to achieve their fullest potential
Ben Hill Middle School opened in 1986 as a junior high school, and was converted into a middle school in 1997. The school is named after a former school board member who was very involved in activities within Hillsborough County. The PTSA and Principal at the time of the school opening, selected the Bears as the mascot and garnet and gray as the school colors.
