Principal's Weekly Message

This past week, we celebrated our amazing assistant principals during Assistant Principal Week.  The hard work these administrators do every day and night never goes unnoticed.  Their dedication to our students, families, and community is truly appreciated, and we cannot thank them enough.  We have the best in the district, and we celebrate them always!  Also, we celebrated our media specialist, Mrs. Ross, and we thank her for everything she does for our students and school.

Congratulations to our March Teacher of the Month, Mr. Pettyjohn.  Mr. Pettyjohn is in our science department and does an outstanding job teaching AP Environmental Science, AICE Environmental Management, and Chemistry. His students recognize his excellence and appreciate Mr. Pettyjohn very much! We all do!

Congratulations to our Student of the Month for March, sophomore Jaliyah Brown!  We are so very proud of Jaliyah and this recognition for her. Keep up the great work, Jaliyah!

Congratulations to junior Andrea McElvaine!  Andrea has been awarded the Rising Star Scholarship from our Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office!  Andrea will attend the summer program with our School Resource Deputy Andrews and will receive $1,000 and a laptop. We are so proud of Andrea and know she will represent Lennard High School very well!

Graduation caps and gowns will be delivered on Monday, April 15. Seniors, if you ordered a cap and gown, please pick it up in the gym lobby during your lunch.  Any senior who has not ordered their cap and gown yet needs to do so as quickly as possible.

Report Cards for Quarter 3 will be visible online beginning this Wednesday, April 10. Remember, Conference Night is next Monday, April 15, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.  We encourage all of you to take this opportunity to speak with your child’s teachers.

Tomorrow, Monday, April 8, 2024, between the time of 1:43pm and 4:15pm, a celestial spectacle is set to grace the skies: A Solar Eclipse! This is an exciting event; however, we want to make sure our students and staff are protected and well-informed when viewing the eclipse. Please carefully review the information sent out to all our families by Hillsborough County Public Schools.  I have also attached the flyer sent out by our district to my email.

I hope you have a great week!

Go Longhorns!
