The campus is located on 86 acres in Citrus Park, and it is one of the largest high schools in Hillsborough County. Our high school was named for Dr. Walter L. Sickles, who was the Superintendent of Schools for Hillsborough County from 1989 through 1996. The student body of Sickles High School excels in academics and athletics. We have earned district, regional, and state recognitions, and awards. The Sickles High School mascot is a Gryphon, which symbolizes character. This mythical creature, with the head of an eagle and the body of a lion, inspires the development of character in our student body. Along with our school’s motto, loyalty, integrity and dignity, our mission is to provide students with experiences which will promote lifelong learning. It is our hope that our students will take these qualities with them into their future.
