Egypt Lake Elementary was dedicated in 1958. The school was named for the lake behind the school, Egypt Lake, which was owned by the Ralston family. The faculty chose blue and gold as the school colors and the eagle as the mascot. The school was renovated in 1987 and a new media center was added in 1999. The entire school was renovated in 2002 with wireless internet access in every classroom.

In 2008, Egypt Lake Elementary celebrated its 50th year educating students!
