Alexander Elementary School was est. in 1950. It opened in the expanding Town & Country suburb's north of the airport. The school was named in honor of Mrs. Martha Alexander, a dedicated educator and the first Elementary Supervisor in the district. Mrs. Alexander died before the school opened when she was addressing a PTA meeting.
