    School History

Grace M. Ippolito's commitment to Hillsborough County Schools spanned 40 years. She started her career in 1959 as a teacher at Ybor Elementary and retired in 1999 as Assistant Superintendent for Instruction. The School District of Hillsborough County honored Mrs. Ippolito's dedication by naming this school after her.

Grace M. Ippolito Elementary School opened in 2002. The school is located in the community of Oak Creek in Riverview, Florida.

Ippolito offers a variety of instructional models to meet the varying needs of its students. This high option environment allows students to be placed in instructional settings that best suit their learning styles.

    Instructional models include:

    • Self contained classrooms
    • PreK and VPK
    • Gifted education
    • Looping classrooms
    • Inclusion classrooms
    • Departmentalized classrooms

Technology is available for instructional use.  Each classroom has at least two student stations and a teacher station.  Our Media Center features a 30-station computer lab and has two wireless mobile lab units available for teachers to checkout.  Instructional technology such as Smart Boards, LCD Projectors, ELMOs, and Alpha Smart word processors are also available for teachers to use.
