Cimino Elementary was established in 2002. The school is named after Richard Cimino, a business man from the Valrico area that was very involved in the community and school district. Cimino Elementary opened with approximately 700 students serving the surrounding community. Cimino has grown to 853 students. Character Education is a strong foundation at Cimino. In 2012, Cimino Elementary School was named a "National School of Character" by the Character Education Partnership.
