Uniform Policy

2024-2025 School Uniforms
The purpose of the School Uniform Policy is to promote school spirit and a positive learning environment. Heritage Elementary has a mandatory school uniform policy. If you need uniform assistance, please contact the front office.
Shirt Color: White, Navy Blue, Light Blue, or Yellow/Gold
- Shirts may have a collar or be t-shirt style.
- Shirts must have sleeves.
- Shirts must be a solid color with or without our school logo. (see additional options below)
- Heritage Spirit T-Shirts may be worn any day.
- It is preferred that sweatshirts, sweaters, and jackets are in the school color scheme. Please be sure to write your child’s first and last name on the tag.
Bottom Color: Navy Blue, Black, Khaki or Denim
- Bottoms may be pants, shorts, skorts, skirts or jumpers.
- Hemlines shall be no shorter than fingertip length.
- All pants and shorts shall be secured at the waist. Jeans should not have holes.
Shoes:
Shoes are to have a flat heel and closed toe. Shoes must be securely fastened to the feet to ensure safety during physical activity.
- Athletic shoes are recommended with socks and tied laces.
- Crocs and skate shoes (shoes with wheels) are NOT allowed on school property at any time.
Backpacks:
All backpacks must be carried while on campus. Backpacks with wheels pose a tripping hazard and are not permitted for safety reasons.
Other: ** Hats and sunglasses may be worn in the outside play areas only. Hoodies must be off the head while on the school campus.
** Show your unique personality? Use the school colors (blue, yellow, and white) to create your own uniform style. For example: yellow pants and blue shirt, yellow dress and a blue sweater, a yellow, blue and white striped shirt, or navy with white polka dots. All clothing must be appropriate for school. Any “messaging” must support a positive academic environment. Sports jerseys should be worn only on sports themed days.
Opting-Out: If you would like your child to opt-out of the uniform policy, please complete an application and schedule an appointment to discuss the issue with the principal. Students opting out of the school uniform policy will be governed by the District Dress Code located in the online Student Code of Conduct. Teachers will be notified of students who have been approved for "opting out" of the uniform policy.
