School Vision
School Mission
Strawberry Crest High School opened in August of 2009 with 1,350 students and 83 faculty members. The school sits on over 50 acres of property once used for strawberry farming. The school was named to pay homage to the rich strawberry farming heritage and the numerous strawberry growers that settled in the eastern part of Hillsborough County. SCHS is an "A" school and has been since 2012. More importantly our graduation rate is 98%, which is one of the highest rates in Hillsborough County.
Strawberry Crest High School was chosen to become the School District of Hillsborough County’s fourth International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. In January of 2011, the International Baccalaureate Organization of World Schools overwhelmingly authorized the program at Strawberry Crest High School.
The school was built to relieve overcrowding at Armwood High School, Durant High School and Plant City High School. It was the students from these schools that came together to form the original student body. These students also selected the “Charger” as the school mascot and red, black and silver as the school colors. They chose the three horseshoes linked together as a symbol of the three schools becoming one. It was these same students that assisted in creating the school’s Mission Statement of C.R.E.S.T.: “Creating Resourceful Educated Students for Tomorrow”.
